My story begins at the young age of five, the earliest memories I have of interacting with the arts; I remember finger painting in the backyard of my parents home in the spring and being mesmerized by the fusion of color changing before my eyes, its a simple memory but one I remember fondly; I felt empowered being able to rework the paint at with my bare hands and sought continue making work as the years passes. Growing up with a parent in the airlines, I also had the privilege of flying around the southwest every weekend visiting relatives and exploring new cities. I was exposed to alternative lifestyles across the country and grew to value my cultural roots which later shaped the way I create my work and interact with the public. As I grew up, I continued my studies in the arts trying my hand at different mediums from drawing, painting and ceramics till I was eventually introduced to photography in my early teens. I first learned analog film processing in my teens working in the darkroom under the mentorship of my teachers and continued studying film processing through high school where I then began focusing on digital image making. Much of my early education in grade school centered around exploring different photographic styles and the value of images in our modern world; It wasn’t until my senior year where I began to seriously pursue photography as a career. I first began offering my services to close friends and family who then passed on their experience to their friends and family and so on. Fast forward to today, I’m currently working on completing my BA in photography and have developed a reliable network of clients I can reach out to throughout the year. Much of the personal work I do as an artist involves working with the human form to stand in for other current events like climate change or class . The experience I’ve gained as a fine arts photographer has also played a large part in the type of services I offer as a portrait photographer.
